The Sensational Alex Harvey Band - Tomorrow Belongs To Me 1975 (UK, Glam Rock) Alex Harvey (Alex Harvey, February 5, 1935 - February 4, 1982) - Scottish rock musician, songwriter and vocalist who has received special recognition as the frontman of rock group The Sensational Alex Harvey Band. Born in Glasgow, dropped out of school, tried 36 different professions (including a lion tamer), before the music started. He headed the group of Kansas City Counts, Alex Harvey Soul Band, Blues Council, Rock Workshop, worked as a solo ... He became one of the organizers of Stone the Crows: it was he who introduced his younger brother Leslie to singer Maggie Bell. But almost immediately there was a tragedy: Wood died, having received an electric shock on stage during the band's performance ... When (it seemed) of his career was drawing to a close, Alex suddenly made for himself a historic discovery: the acquaintance with the work of prog band Tear Gas ("Hall" Cleminson - guitar, Chris Glen - Bass Ted McKenna - drums, his cousin, Hugh McKenna - Keyboards ), which has already released two albums: Piggy Go Getter (1970) Tear Gas (1971). In 1972, Harvey joined finally to the participants of Tear Gas and formed The Sensational Alex Harvey Band (he was already 37 years old) ... The original music critics were The Sensational Alex Harvey Band to glam-rock movement, but gradually it became clear that Harvey and his incredible imagination scale closer to prog-rock and shock. Speaking at colleges and student clubs, the group developed a theatrical eccentric style that became her trademark. Soon Delilah (Tom Jones hit, a cover) and The Boston Tea Party, Alex Harvey brought the success to which he aspired all his life. Back problems (aggravated by physical hard work of frontman on stage) forced him in 1977 to announce his departure from the group. Fourplay album the band recorded and released without him, and he also recorded a self-Alex Harvey Presents the Loch Ness Monster. Their last album together, Rock Drill, was released after the group disbanded. In 1979 Alex Harvey formed the group The Electric Cowboys, released the album The Mafia Stole My Guitar, but his return has passed unnoticed. February 4, 1982 (the day before his 47th birthday) in Zeebrugge (Belgium), waiting for the ferry after the concert, Alex suffered an acute heart attack. On the way to the hospital and repeated the attack proved fatal ... In 2005, The Sensational Alex Harvey Band were fifth in the list of greatest Scottish band of all time, ahead of The MacDonald Brothers, Runrig, Nazareth, Lulu, Texas, Primal Scream ... Tracks: 01.
